From Frustration to Focus: ADHD Testing in Philadelphia, the Main Line, & Online

Unmask ADHD in Philadelphia. Renewing Mindsets' accurate testing paves the way for successful treatment.

The bustling streets of Philadelphia are a playground for children, but for those struggling with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), the city's vibrant energy can morph into a chaotic maze. Impulsivity reigns, focus flits like fireflies, and frustration erupts like sudden summer storms. But parents, fear not! Renewing Mindsets is here to help you navigate the rollercoaster of childhood ADHD and guide your little Philadelphian towards a path of thriving.

The Enigmatic Tiger Within:

Imagine a playful tiger cub, full of boundless energy and curiosity, yet prone to impulsive leaps and attention spans shorter than a hummingbird's wingbeat. That can be the essence of ADHD in children – a whirlwind of potential often overshadowed by challenges with focus, impulsivity, and emotional regulation. It's not misbehavior; it's a difference in brain wiring, and understanding this is key to unlocking your child's potential.

Beyond the Classroom Walls:

ADHD isn't just a classroom concern; it impacts every aspect of your child's life, from friendships and extracurricular activities to their emotional well-being and self-esteem. At Renewing Mindsets, we recognize this, offering comprehensive ADHD evaluations that go beyond academic assessments. We delve into your child's social interactions, emotional experiences, and home environment, creating a holistic picture of their unique ADHD journey.

Taming the Tiger with Tailored Tools:

Each child's ADHD is as unique as their fingerprint. Our ADHD specialists will collaborate with you to design a personalized treatment plan that empowers your child to manage their tiger within. This might include:

  • Parent-child coaching: Equipping families with effective communication strategies and positive reinforcement techniques to navigate tantrums, meltdowns, and daily challenges.

  • Individualized therapy: Utilizing evidence-based approaches like CBT and mindfulness to improve focus, manage impulsivity, and build emotional regulation skills.

  • Social skills training: Helping your child navigate social interactions, build lasting friendships, and develop empathy.

  • Medication management: Working with experienced psychotherapists to explore the potential benefits of ADHD medication and ensure proper monitoring for optimal outcomes.

  • What is the soonest that I can be seen?
The fastest way to be seen is through a virtual session, which we can typically schedule within 1-3 days. We can start both the psychiatric evaluation and the ADHD comprehensive assessment virtually. The first part of the ADHD assessment, the psychiatric evaluation, will be done virtually, and then you can come into the office for in-person testing within the next few days. Alternatively, you have the option to complete the entire ADHD comprehensive assessment in one visit to our office.
  • Do you assist with accommodations for school and referral letters?
Yes, we do. At Renewing Mindsets, we assist with accommodations for school, referral letters, and psychiatric evaluation letters for individuals who have been tested with us and meet the diagnosis criteria. We have helped our clients with accommodation letters for exams such as the LSAT for law school, the MCAT for medical school, the NCLEX for nursing school, as well as the NBME and the MBE (Multistate Bar Examination). Additionally, we write accommodation letters for individuals needing workplace accommodations.
  • How Does ADHD testing work?
For individuals seeking clarity on ADHD symptoms, adhd diagnosis, or requiring accommodations, our ADHD Comprehensive Evaluation is recommended and offers a thorough assessment that includes both virtual and in-person psychiatric evaluations, followed by in-person computerized ADHD testing. ADHD Comprehensive Evaluation ($460): Includes psychiatric evaluation with computerized TOVA testing. Evaluations can be conducted virtually and in person. This is essential for those seeking an ADHD diagnosis, accommodation, or treatment planning. Standardized ADHD Testing ($255): The purpose of T.O.V.A. (Test of Variables of Attention) testing is to objectively assess attention-related difficulties, such as those associated with ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder). This does not include a diagnosis but is to accompany a previous provider's specific request for diagnostic testing only. Accommodations: To obtain ADHD accommodations, a comprehensive ADHD evaluation is necessary, and we provide accommodation letters for an additional fee of $95.
  • I was previously diagnosed. Will you manage my treatment and medication?
Currently no, we do not manage ongoing treatment and medication for previously diagnosed individuals. Our focus is primarily on conducting ADHD evaluations and ensuring availability for our new patients seeking treatment management.
  • Do you accept insurance?
Hi, thank you for reaching out to Renewing Mindsets. We are an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance for ADHD testing. However, we strive to keep our services affordable, with pricing starting at $95. We accept HSA, FSA, debit, and credit card payments. Additionally, we can create a superbill that you can submit to your insurance provider for potential reimbursement. You can view our appointment availability and detailed pricing on our "Schedule an Appointment" section of the website.
